PROGRAM INTRODUCTION
Shakti: The Divine Power Within
Shakti is the primordial force of the universe — the sacred energy from which all creation arises. She is the embodiment of power, compassion, wisdom, and transformation. In Hindu philosophy, Shakti is not separate from the Divine — she is the living energy that moves, nurtures, protects, and sustains life itself.
Shakti manifests in many radiant forms.
As Goddess Gayatri, she is pure consciousness and enlightenment.
As Saraswati, she flows as knowledge, creativity, and the arts.
As Lakshmi, she bestows abundance, prosperity, and grace.
And as Durga, she rises with fierce courage and protection.
At her heart, Shakti is also the Divine Mother — nurturing, patient, endlessly compassionate. She is the quiet inner strength and the fearless voice, the gentle healer and the powerful protector.
To honor Shakti is to honor womanhood in all its forms.
Shakti is energy.
Shakti is woman.
Shakti is the force that shapes the universe.
Through today’s Bharatanatyam performances, our dancers bring this divine energy to life.
